2018년 프레디 어워드(Freddie Awards) 결과
지난 4월 말 2018년 프레디 어워드(Freddie Awards) 결과가 나왔는데요.
우선 프레디 어워드가 생소하신 분들이 많을테니 간단히 소개 먼저 해드리겠습니다.
프레디 어워드는 1970년대 여행업계에서 큰 활약을 한 프레디 레이커 경(Sir Freddie Laker)의 이름을 따서 만들어졌습니다.
프레디 레이커 경은 자신의 이름을 딴 레이커 항공을 설립하고 장거리 노선에 저가항공("no-frills" airline)을 도입한 항공계에서는 굉장히 유명한 사람입니다.
버진 그룹의 리처드 브랜슨(Richard Branson)의 멘토로도 알려져있죠.

프레디 어워드는 소비자가 직접 평가한 결과를 바탕으로 항공사와 호텔의 멤버십 프로그램에 대해 평가하는데요.
아메리카, 유럽/아프리카, 중동/아시아/오세아니아로 나누어 시상합니다.
역사로만 따져도 1989년 시작해 벌써 28회나 된 매우 오래된 평가입니다.
그러다 보니 글로벌 호텔 체인에서도 평가 시즌이 오면 잘 평가해 달라는 메일이 오곤 합니다.
