요즘 굉장히 바빠서 블로그를 거의 못하고 있는데요.

놀랄만한 소식이 있어서 짧게나마 포스팅합니다.
1. 사망
지난 2/15일 메리어트의 CEO인 Arne Sorenson(어니 소렌슨)이 62세의 나이로 사망했다는 발표가 있었습니다.
(한글 발음을 자꾸 바꿨는데 결론은 어니 소렌슨으로 표시하는게 가장 정확한 것 같습니다..)

2. 생애
소렌슨은 58년에 루터교 목사(선교 활동인 것으로 추정)인 아버지가 근무하던 도쿄에서 태어났습니다.
7살에 미국으로 돌아온 그는 미네소타주 세인트폴에서 자랐습니다.

이때 이안 슈레거(Ian Schrager) 인스타에 함께 찍은 사진도 올라오더라구요.
이 사진만 봤을 땐 상당히 괜찮아 보이기도 하고,
췌장암이지만 2기라고 해서 곧 돌아오겠거니 하고 전해드리지도 않았었는데요.
어제 공식적으로 그의 사망이 발표되었습니다.

소렌슨의 빈자리는 암 치료를 위해 잠시 자리를 비웠을 떄 대행을 맡았던
고객 응대, 기술 및 신규 사업 담당 임원인 Stephanie Linnartz(스테파니 린나츠)와
해외 개발, 디자인, 운영 담당 임원인 Tony Capuano(토니 카푸아노)가 그대로 맡는다고 합니다.
새로운 CEO는 2주 이내에 지명될 것이라고 하네요.
