리츠파리는 굉장히 많은 히스토리가 있는데요.
다 적으면 책 한 권을 써야 되기에 간단히 소개해 보겠습니다.
우선 위치는 프랑스 파리 1구역 방돔광장 건물(Place Vendôme) 15번에 있습니다.

1898년 세자르 리츠(César Ritz)가 요리사인 Auguste Escoffier(오쉬스트 에스코피에르)와 공동으로 설립했습니다.
세자르 리츠는 리츠칼튼 호텔 체인을 세운 호텔리어로 매우 유명한 스위스 사람인데요.

'호텔의 왕'이라고 불리고, '손님은 왕이다'라는 말을 했다고도 하는데요.

호텔 시설에 대해서 소개해 드리자면, 객실 수는 159개이고 매우 고급스러운 호텔입니다.
각 방에 욕실 욕실, 전화 및 전기를 제공하는 유럽 최초의 호텔 중 하나였습니다.
방돔 지역은 루이 14세 시절에 지으려고 시작한 곳 입니다.
자금 부족으로 중단되었다가 1702년에 완공되었다고 합니다.
루이 15세의 정부인 퐁파두르 부인(Marquise de Pompadour)에게 헌정된 곳이라네요.
이렇게 오래되다 보니 Imperial Suite(임페리얼 스위트-가장 큰 스위트)은 프랑스의 국가 기념물이기도 합니다.
우리나라로 치면 국보인 것이지요.
Imperial Suite의 기본 틀은 베르사유 궁전(Château de Versailles)의 마리 앙투아네트(Marie Antoinette)의 침실을 본떠서 만들었다고 합니다.
제2차 세계대전 때는 헤르만 괴링(Hermann Wilhelm Göring)이 여기에 본부를 세웠다고도 하네요.

코코 샤넬(Coco Chanel), 어니스트 헤밍웨이(Ernest Hemingway) 등 많은 유명인들이 살았었습니다.
헤밍웨이는

설립자이니 당연히 있는게 당연한 것 같네요.
여자들을 위해서 침대 린넨은 복숭아색이라고 하고, 전등 갓은 분홍색 실크로 만들었다고 합니다.

이 스위트는 리츠파리의 여러 스위트 중 제가 유일하게 들어가 본 방이라 조금 더 할 말이 있을 것 같습니다.
(투숙이라고는 안했습니다.ㅎㅎ 이번주 투숙료는 하루에 18,000 유로입니다.)
파리에 갔을 때 무작정 찾아가서 보여달라고 했더니 친절하게 보여줘서 당황했었습니다.;;ㅎ
나이가 있으신 컨시어지 직원분이 세부적으로 설명해 줬던 기억이 있네요.
제가 찍은 사진도 있지만 호텔 홈페이지의 공식 사진을 우선 올려드립니다.
일반룸도 구경을 했었는데 스위트 중에는 이 방만 남아서 운좋게 구경했습니다.
코코샤넬 스위트는 다른 객실과 다르게 블랙앤화이트스러운 부분이 많습니다.
다른 방의 고풍스런 분위기와는 사뭇 달랐죠.
뛰어난 사람은 시대를 앞서가는구나 싶었습니다.
방에는 샤넬이 쓰던 중국풍의 검정색 병풍이 유명합니다.(1번째 사진)
샤넬의 개인적인 사진들도 걸려있습니다.
샹들리에와 예술 작품들은 샤넬이 구매하고 사용한 것들입니다.
이러한 인연으로 인해서 매년 10월경 샤넬 브랜드의 패션쇼 3일간 열린다고 들었습니다.
그때는 샤넬에서 호텔 전체를 빌린다고 하네요.
찾아보니 레오나르도 디카프리오가 애용하는 방이라고 하네요.

영화는 보질 않아서 얼마나 나오는지는 모르겠네요.
