리모델링은 근처에 살았던 늙은 영국 화가를 기념했다고 합니다. 높게 뻣어나가는 천장(Soaring Ceiling, 아치형 천장인것 같기도 한데 건축적인 이야기라 정확한 뜻은 모르겠네요;;), 매우 높은 유리창, 두개의 기둥이 있는 침대 등이 레트로하게 디자인 되었다고하네요. 결과적으로 현재는 99개 객실을 갖춘 호텔로 거듭났다고 하네요. 그리고 이 호텔의 시그니처는 로마시대때부터 사용한 우물에서 가져오는 물(Private Water)이라고 합니다. 당연히 스파도 좋겠죠? **- 컨데 나스트 트래블러 소개 페이지 **

로얄 만수르 마라케시(Royal Mansour) 호텔이 6위네요. 3년간 1,200명의 장인이 매달려 만든 호텔이라고 합니다. 53개의 3층짜리 리아드(Riad, 모로코의 전통 가옥) 형태라고 합니다. 가운데는 중정이 있다고 하는데요. 비를 감지하면 자동으로 캐노피가 펴진다고 하네요.+_+ 거실과 욕실에는 실크 벽으로 꾸며져 있답니다. 전용 루프탑이 제공되는 룸도 있다고 하는데요. 벽난로와 온수 풀이 있다고 합니다.
또한 직원들은 지하터널로 다녀서 고객들과 마주칠 일이 거의 없다고 하네요.ㅎㄷㄷ 대박입니다.ㅎㅎㅎ 신기한 서비스네요. 얼마전에 포브스 트래블 가이드에서 선정한 2018년 방문해야할 여행지 18에서도 마라케시가 선정되었다고 말씀드렸는데요. 이 호텔은 마라케시를 방문 시 추천하는 호텔로도 꼽혔었죠
